LimeWire 4.14.8
If you are looking for the fastest P2P file sharing application, look for the Lime Wire that works wonderfully well for every conceivable type of computer files such as video, music, games and pictures as well as text documents. There is also the excellent Lime Wire spam blocker that rids you of junk results and with features to automatically update keeps the version up to date and at the same time works faster as well. With the 4.0 series you get a host of additional features that are new and there is also the excellent update interface as too much improved overall performance.
Look to the eye catching icons and the souped up Java interface and some more features and you have a program that won’t disappoint you and you can even check your connection quality and if you want to go straight to particular file types all you need to do is use the button matrix. There is also a progress bar that enhances the search interface and you can get information about files including facts on artist as well as album in a clearer display as compared to earlier versions.
The network performance is also a lot better and you get many more search results as compared to earlier versions and when you download as a P2P client, the experience is very satisfying as well as reliable. No doubt, the application has a built-in foundation that relies heavily on Java – yet the application is smooth as well as quite nimble, which is surprisingly welcome. And, every time new files get added to the network you can use the What’s New feature and get a list of these files, and if you want not to have adult content, you can use the check box filter for that purpose.
You may have used earlier versions of Lime Wire and found them to be rather immature but when you lay your hands on the Lime Wire 4.14 you are in for a surprise and you will pleasantly be surprised by its mature handling and even though there are flaws in performance here and there which file-sharing clients would find less than satisfactory, the Lime Wire 4.14 does not let you down and you can expect performance that is simply solid and along with the good looks is a pretty decent application indeed.
Some users that have tried Lime Wire 4.14 on the Vista platform have discovered some bugs that just don’t seem to ever go away and have had to revert back to the bug free Windows XP version. Here’s hoping the programmers at Lime Wire sort out these problems as soon as is possible because you don’t want to take a step back and go back to using the Windows version, and be unable to use your program for Vistas.
